The Founder Story
A CPA who saw the gap — and built the fix.
Jeromy Spence is a CPA who built his career inside accounting, becoming a partner at MNP in less time than most. What made his practice grow was straightforward: he served clients fully — across every need they had, not just the engagement in front of him.
Most independent firms are not staffed for that. The partner sees the gap, knows the right answer exists somewhere, and does not have the network or time to deliver it. The client walks away under-served — or the work goes to a national firm.
JBIS was the first answer — a specialist insurance distribution business working alongside accountants, with more than 100 active CPA firm relationships and over $200 million in premiums placed in 2025. Insurance was one gap. FirmWork is the broader expression: every category, one disciplined platform.
